The Putnam County Solicitor General's Office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

We are located on the main floor of the courthouse. After passing through the security checkpoint, proceed to your left and continue walking until you have reached the very end of the hallway to Suite 205.

Prosecution of Cases in Courts

The Office of the Putnam County Solicitor General is responsible for prosecuting every criminal case within the State Court of Putnam County and the Recorder's Court of Eatonton, Georgia.  Additionally, the Solicitor General attends all pre-warrant hearings in Putnam County Magistrate Court to ensure that victims of crime are protected and that all persons are properly charged with the offenses they are alleged to have committed.

Putnam County Solicitor General Victim Witness Assistance Program

The Solicitor General serves as the Director of the Putnam County Solicitor General Victim Witness Assistance Program which is charged with the responsibility of protecting all rights of victims and witnesses in cases prosecuted by the Solicitor General in Putnam County as well as distributing victim witness assistance funds to those agencies who provide assistance to victims of crime and witnesses in Putnam County.

Putnam County State Court Pre-Trial Diversion Program

The Solicitor General oversees the Putnam County State Court Pre-Trial Diversion Program. Only those Defendants who are charged with a criminal offense which does not carry mandatory jail time may make application with the Solicitor General for placement into the pre-trial diversion program.  The program lasts from 3 to 12 months depending on each defendant and their rate of progress through the program.
